Ronald Gault
A recognized senior Subject Matter Expert in the U.S. nuclear weapons surety (safety and security) industry; he has worked with all three of the services in the risk analysis of inadvertent and deliberate actions, including the following activities:
Air Force:
Building a Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) program for the assessment of risks in the ICBM (Minuteman, Peacekeeper, Titan) and participating in, or conducting all ICBM nuclear surety risk assessment efforts since 1971. Totally wrote the last two (1997 and 2009) baseline reports
Led DoD Independent Research and Development projects in the use of Artificial Intelligence in QRA
Developing standards/regulations for the management of nuclear surety programs
Army:
Served as a consultant to the Director of the Army Nuclear and Chemical Agency and the Picatinny Army Depot to develop a process and then conduct deliberate attack risk assessments from 1983-1991
Participated on risk assessment teams for the Pershing I and II nuclear missiles, and nuclear weapons depots in Germany and the United States. Co-wrote both Pershing risk assessment reports with Martin Marietta
Drafted Army nuclear safety standards for hardware and software and independent validation and verification of critical software
Navy/Air Force:
Served as a consultant to the Joint Navy-Air Force Cruise Missile program office on the Ground Launched Cruise missile program in 1982-83 to develop a process, conduct a deliberate attack risk assessment and co-write the report with General Dynamics. The assignment allowed for interaction with the nuclear safety staff at the Tomahawk and Submarine Launched nuclear missile offices.

Hanford Nuclear Reservation:
Supported a Westinghouse/TRW team at the reservation in developing a process to identify risks involved in nuclear waste remediation options
National Security Agency
Development and Information Assurance Certification of Type 1 cryptographic equipment
Control of undesirable emanations (TEMPEST/EMSEC)
Wrote the history the ICBM nuclear command and control program
Risk assessment of risks involved with US Nuclear Command and Control Support Staff
Consulted several times on the process to conduct surveys of the globally instantiated nuclear command and control systems under the command of the Commander US Strategic Command
Provide Risk Analysis on IT systems to investigate adequacy of protections for of medical information regulated by the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and ISO standards for:
